Mike

I’m a retired Army and disabled veteran.  I always loved photographing and documenting my adventures in life and this documentary photography followed me through the Army.  As a veteran of serving twice in Iraq over a 15-year Army career, I found an outlet for my PTSD through photography.  I enrolled at the Academy of Art University to pursue my Master’s for Photography.  I realized the Master’s program was too short for what I wanted to accomplish, so I enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts program where I’m currently enrolled.

I’m a highly accomplished and retired Army investigator who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Intelligence.  When I’m not learning how to advance my photography trade, I spend my time volunteering for various organizations by using my past skillsets to help others.  I always go above and beyond to maximize the best outcomes and provide elite level work products.

Artist Statement: In the heart of the urban jungle, I traverse the chaotic and bustling streets with my laser sharp eyes as if I were on a combat patrol or looking for IED’s.  The camera lens becomes my new primary weapon waiting to be fired to capture the next fleeting moment into the organized chaos that reveals the intricacies of human movement.
